ADVERTISING, ICT AND CONSTRUCTION 

 

ONLY MEDIA WEB join last April 22 the training and networking event INNOVATION IS ON THE NETWORK organized by CONSTRUMÁTICA in the International Construction Exhibition CONSTRUMAT 09.

 

The speech of OMW, presented by JORDI URBEA, General Manager of OGILVY ONE, put forward the role of the on line advertising and the architecture, engineering and construction area, in keeping with the leitmotif of the event which dealt with the importance of new tecnologies in the development of this area to present and future challenges.

 

WHERE DO WE COME FROM? Construction area is little used to communicate, it relies too much on the traditional processes of information and it is poorly integrated into new technologies and advances and it moves among a dispersion and fragmentation of content and channels.

SOME TOPICS could be dangerous. We often hear sentences like “I do not believe in communication” or “advertise myself on the network cannot get straight answers” or even worse: “Internet is the future”. But, Internet is not the future, Internet is the present!

 

BREAKING THE TOPICS.  John Wanamaker [1838-1932], the father of modern advertising, said: “I know the 50% of my advertisements are wasted, but I don’t know wich 50%”. Adverstising can never be despised. Maybe we think we are immune to it, even to on line advertising. The new formats are the answer. Newsletters, digital magazines or digital publications are examples of good practice. 

 

INNOVATION IS ON THE NETWORK. We talk about segmentation. It envolves the development of services and products adapted to new challenges and some clients that take part in a reality that is increasingly complex and specialized. Therefore, it is essential to establish a cross-way of communication in line with the innovation processes that are available to the construction area. We must seize it and betting on it.

 

Finding advertisements related to the marks at the sites where there is a real traffic and quality content is synonymous with value and brand recognition. The value of theses actions will improve with the maturation of practitioners on the possibilities of the network.

 

A SINGLE CHANNEL, INFINITE POSSIBILITIES.  OMW creates a single on line channel grouping and prescribing advertising of major websites in this area in Spain. Its aim is to contribute to the maduration process of the communication on the network in which intervene the different partners of the architecture and construction area.
